1. What happens if we do not submit payment on time?
School groups that do not have payment in on time will either have to choose a different date or pay full admission
at the ticket booth.
2. How do extra adults get tickets?
The school has the option to purchase extra adult tickets at the same time as the student tickets at the discounted
$16 rate per adult. If the school cannot pay for the extra adults, then they can pay for the tickets online or at the
ticket booth when they arrive. This will not be the discounted rate! Parents can also use their active membership!
We no longer require timed tickets for parents! They can get them online or at the ticket booth when they arrive.
Members can use their memberships and are no longer required to make an online reservation. They only
need their membership card and ID.
4. What if some students end up not coming on the trip?
The Nashville Zoo has a no-refund policy. If a few students do not show up to join the field trip, we will not be able
to refund single tickets. Our ticketing system puts all of the student tickets on one ticket. If the ticket is scanned, ALL
tickets are scanned. We have to scan the ticket when your group enters the Zoo.
5. What if there is bad weather on the day of our trip?
You can reach out to us at education@nashvillezoo.org about rescheduling your trip. There is no fee for
rescheduling, so we can move your trip as many times as needed. The Zoo will not close if it is raining outside, and
we will not cancel your trip.
6. What do we do when we arrive?
Once you arrive, an Education Representative or security guard will be out to greet your group. We will hop on the
buses to get some information from the lead teacher, go over quick point with your students, and then will proceed
to unload the bus(es).
3. Can parents use their active membership for their student to attend the field trip instead of paying the
admission fee?
Yes! Parents who have an active membership to our Zoo can cover their student’s admission instead of paying the
school group rate. This only applies to their children and cannot cover multiple kids that are not the immediate
family. As the teacher, you will need to email a list to Kendra Borgmann of the cardholders’ names and membership
IDs to double check that the memberships are still active. Please send a new breakdown of how many students you
are paying for and how many will be covered by memberships so we still have an accurate headcount.

8. Do bus drivers have to pay to get in?

Nope! They are more than welcome to come to the Zoo for free if they their bus badge.

9. How do we go about the Zoo once we are inside?

Your trip is self-guided, and some groups like to split up if they have a certain number of chaperones. Some groups

like to travel as one! We do not hand out paper copies of our map anymore to cut back on our paper waste.

Attached bellow is our link to the Zoo map. We recommend printing some out (for at least the teachers and

chaperones) and setting a meeting spot if you all get separated. Festival Field is a good spot for this.

10. Where do we go for lunch?

School groups have lunch at the picnic tables at Festival Field. Many school groups choose to leave their lunches

unattended near the picnic tables. No personal items should be left with lunches. The Zoo will not be monitoring

these lunches and is not responsible for missing items. School lunches should be stored in a closed container (box,

tub, cooler, etc) and labeled clearly with the name of the school. Another option is to leave lunches on your school

bus and have chaperones bring them from the bus when you are ready for them. Please note that there is a

significant walk between the bus parking and Festival Field. Picnic tables cannot be reserved and are available on a

first come first serve basis.

11. Will the Zoo staff carry in our lunches?

We will not be able to carry your lunches into the park for you. Here are a few tips to help you plan:

You can bring coolers with wheels, and wagons to cart your things to the field.

You can task a few chaperones to bring your group’s lunches to the Zoo and carry them to the field as they

walk up to meet your group.

12. Are there concessions for snacks?

Yes! We do have concession stands open for snacks, or if the adults wanted to get lunch. We do not have digital

pricing on the food.

13. What time do schools usually leave?

Schools usually leave anywhere between 12:30pm -2:00pm. It depends on when you all have to be back at the

school before, or at dismissal.

We ask all parents/ extra chaperones arrive earlier than the group to get their ticket scanned and go inside the

park to Festival Field to wait for your group to arrive. Do not have them wait for you at the entrance or take

their kids out of line to walk in. This will delay getting your group inside the park.

15. What are the attractions, and how much are they?

We do have extra attractions that are not included with your student tickets. If you purchase these tickets at the

same time as student registration, they will be $1.50 per ticket. If you decide to purchase these tickets later on,

they will be $2.00 on-site.

Attractions:

Wild Animal Carousel (1 attraction ticket)

Wilderness Express (1 attraction ticket, weather dependent)

Lorikeet Landing (free to enter, 1 attraction ticket to feed, weather dependent)

Soaring Eagle Zipline (4 attraction tickets, weather dependent, height restriction)

16. What are the Animeal Lunches, and how much are they?

You have to order a minimum of 20 lunches at the same time as your student tickets. You have the options of a

Ham Sandwich, a Turkey Sandwich, or a Hot Dog. This includes a mini water bottle, a bag of chips, and animal

cookies. $11.00 each.
